Keel support takes the most weight off the vessel while it is out of the water, while boat stands are used for balancing and stability. Brownell offers three different options for keel support.

Brownell’s innovative keel stands are designed to save time and labor. Rather than stacking and cribbing wood blocks, these are placed under the keel and quickly adjusted to the proper height, thereby saving labor and increasing efficiency and profit.  Available in three sizes; most with options for flat or V tops.

Brownell keel benches are also quick to install and provide robust support.  When adjustment isn’t required, keel benches are the best option for labor savings.  With products rated from 20,000 lbs. (9,100 kgs) to 80,000 lbs. (36,400 kgs) these are ideal even for large recreational and commercial vessels.

Traditionally, wood blocks have been stacked and cribbed under boats’ keels to bear the load.  While this method is labor intensive, it is still widely used.  Wood blocks are still the best option under a sailboat keel.  Our wood blocks are cut from eastern pine and also available pressure treated for longer life.
