The Brownell Boat Stand System includes four different options for keel support. Keel support takes the weight of the vessel while it is out of the water, while boat stands are used for balancing and stability. Choose from Brownell Keel Stands, Brownell Keel Benches, and either wooden or galvanized steel blocks for keel support as part of the Brownell Boat Stand System.
Brownell Keel Stands are designed to save time and labor. They are used in place of conventional wood blocks and feature easy-to-adjust ACME solid steel threaded tops. Our keel stands can also be nested or stacked for compact storage. It is recommended that you use one Keel Stand for every 20,000 pounds or 9,100 kgs of vessel weight. They come in sizes that range from 15-24 inches (38-61 cm) to 28-42 inches (71-107 cm) adjustable. Choose from traditional blue painted, or hot dip galvanized and V-top or Flat-top varieties, depending on your needs.
Brownell Keel Benches range between 16 and 18 inches and come in traditional blue painted, or hot dip galvanized. They are quick to install and provide a wide surface area to support boats with larger or smaller keels. Similar to the Keel Stand, it is recommended that you use one Keel Bench for every 20,000 pounds or 9,100 kgs of vessel weight. A minimum of two Keel Benches should be placed on ground that is hard and stable to carry the boat’s weight.
Wood Blocks are traditional keel support and come in 6×6 inches, 8×8 inches, and 12×12 inches options with 22 inches in length. Our Galvanized Steel Blocks are a great, long-lasting alternative to traditional wood keel blocks. Each tube is 8×8 inches and 20 inches in length, weighing just 33 pounds. These blocks have been load tested to 40,000 pounds.
